Meet our talent recruitment team

Molly Weaver

In addition to being the Mommy of a former NICU baby and a current kidney patient, I am the Director of Talent Acquisition for Children’s Mercy. In that role, I am responsible for attracting amazing people to take care of the children we serve - including mine. Our goal is to find the best people possible that have a passion for the health and well-being of children. If you share that passion, please come join us at Children’s Mercy by introducing yourself to us or by dropping me an email.

Jeff Janda

I am a Lead Recruitment Strategist and my primary focus is on manager, director and senior director-level positions throughout the hospital. I love that I get chance to bring in top talent to make Children’s Mercy a better place for the kids in Kansas City and surrounding areas. At home I have an amazing wife and one awesome son! We struggled with fertility so we call him our “lucky” one. We are also foster parents, which keeps us on our toes. If you have questions about the hospital or any of our openings, I would love to hear from you.

Angie Richardson

I have held several roles at Children’s Mercy since 1997. My current role is Talent Acquisition Manager. I have a team of eight amazing Talent Recruiters and Onboarding Coordinators that I work with and together we find the very best talent to work in roles that help take care of the kids at Children's Mercy! When I am not working, I am a full-time mom to two amazing boys who keep me busy with their sport schedules! If you are considering a career in healthcare and want work with the best professionals in the region who specialize in caring for kids, please introduce yourself to us or email me.

When I’m not at work, I love to be outdoors! Searching for and finding new parks in Kansas City has been quite an adventure for me and my kids! Trust me, there are a lot of parks in KC! When I am not enjoying the outdoors, I am working as one of the Nurse Recruiters on the clinical recruitment team. Coming to work at Children’s Mercy was an easy decision for me. Like many people from this area, I have had family, friends and my own kiddos treated at this remarkable hospital. Getting to know all of the nurses is the highlight of my job. They have such passion for what they do! If this sounds like a place you would like to start or continue your nursing career, introduce yourself to us on our website or e-mail me.

Helping people better their careers is a passion of mine and I love meeting new people. I get to do what I love every day! I’m a Senior Talent Recruiter here at Children’s Mercy and most importantly I’m a mother of two children. I want to hire the best here at Children's Mercy for not only my kids but for others. I have the pleasure recruiting for Research, EEG Tech’s, Directors, GME, and HIM/ Medical coding here at the hospital.

Caroline Magruder

As you can see, I am also a mom of two very busy girls. Not only have I been at Children's Mercy as an employee, but I have also been here as a scared parent whose children were admitted as patients. I’ve had personal experiences with various departments such as the Lab, Radiology, and Physical Therapy just to name a few. When I walked into Children’s Mercy as the concerned parent, I was always so amazed at how the staff gave such love and care towards my kids and myself! Now, as a Talent Recruiter working for the hospital, I continually strive to bring people to Children’s Mercy who have the same compassion and understanding of the “Magic of Mercy” as my family experienced.

Jenifer Wilson

I completed my higher education as a working adult and am passionate about helping others fulfill their dreams of going back to school, which is why I am a Talent Advancement Analyst at Children’s Mercy. I am also the Mommy to two NICU graduates, and am committed to helping our employees achieve the education they need to provide the highest level of care to kiddos just like mine. Children’s Mercy welcomes employees with all levels of education, and we would love to hear from you.

Courtney Roberts

I definitely stay busy being a mommy of two active kiddos, but I am also a Senior Talent Recruiter for Children’s Mercy. I am responsible for recruiting niche positions throughout the hospital such as information systems, respiratory therapy, telemedicine and medical informatics. I am honored to be working at a top-rated organization here in Kansas City. I strive to search for the best talent for Children’s Mercy so we can continue being successful taking care of our kids! If you want to join me in helping our area’s children, please tell me about yourself!

I am the Director of Physician Recruitment and looking for physicians that would get a “thumbs-up” and “high-five” from our kids. As a proud “me-maw” who thinks the world of her grandchildren, I am determined to find the BEST, most talented, most caring and “fun” physicians to be a part of Children’s Mercy. It takes so much more than just a medical degree to take care of OUR children. Only the BEST for my grandchildren, and all of our children at Children’s Mercy! If you are a physician looking for a great opportunity, would our children (and grandchildren) recommend you? If the answer is yes, I would love to hear from you! The kids are waiting...

Mary Kinart

I am the mom of two great boys who found their way to my home by way of adoption. As a former PTA President, I attended countless school programs and served on many school district committee’s focused on education. As the mom of a child on the autism spectrum I am dedicated to helping improve the lives of all individuals who have challenges. It is my great pleasure to recruit new physicians to Children’s Mercy Hospital. As the Physician Recruiter I work to match talented people with the right opportunities within the hospital. I love working with doctors to help them advance their careers in medicine at Children's Mercy.

I recently re-joined the Children’s Mercy Talent Acquisition team in May 2016 as a Nurse Recruiter. I feel honored to be part of a top-notch organization that is constantly finding new, innovative ways to improve the quality of patient care that we provide to so many children and families. Outside of work, I am a proud aunt and love spending time with my nieces and nephew. If you are ready to be a part of an amazing organization, please stop by our careers page to introduce yourself or email me.

I recently relocated from Texas to Kansas City in October 2016 to join the Children’s Mercy Talent Acquisition Team.  I am a Senior Recruiter and am responsible for recruiting APRN’s throughout the hospital.  I started my recruiting career in 2011 after graduating from Texas Tech University. Working for a children’s hospital has always been a dream of mine and I am honored to be a part of top-rated organization. In my spare time I enjoy traveling with friends and family, spending time with my 7-year-old nephew, volunteering, attending concerts, and baking/cooking. If you want to join me in helping our children, please introduce yourself to me!

I am the proud mom to three active kids and have a job that I love. My kiddos have all received outstanding care at Children’s Mercy, which made joining this team an easy choice! Each day I get to see some tangible reason why this hospital is the best in pediatric medicine. As the Talent Acquisition Coordinator, I am the “jack of all trades,” working on special projects and providing support in recruitment and department operations. I can usually answer any and all questions for our team. If you have an interest in joining the Children's Mercy family, please contact me.

I'm the Onboarding Coordinator in the Human Resources Department here at Children's Mercy. I started working here in October of 2011 as a temporary employee and loved it so much I started full time in February 2012. I'm more of the behind-the-scenes kind of person, sending out all the new hire letters once the recruiters make an offer, coordinating onboarding paperwork, helping with any issues and working with relocation reimbursement for those eligible. Children's Mercy is a special place and our recruiters work hard to find the best possible employees to care for our kids. My three children have all been patients here and, now with four grandchildren, there is no better place for their health and wellness.

Jessica Samuelson

I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and moved to Kansas City in June 2016. I am an avid college basketball fan and supporter of the Creighton University Bluejays. I’m excited to be a part of the Children’s Mercy Talent Acquisition team! I recruit to bring top talent to a variety of non-clinical roles. I love working at Children’s Mercy and knowing that the people I work to hire bring so much joy to our patients and families. If you are interested in a role here, please stop by our careers page to introduce yourself or email me.

Addi Morgan

I grew up as a Children’s Mercy kid having been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at a young age. It was a scary challenge but every Children’s Mercy employee that crossed my path made it easy for me to continue being a kid. These memories made my decision to join Children’s as the Recruitment Coordinator an easy one! I enjoy being one of the first people candidates come in contact with, and continuing the tradition of excellence for the hospital, for Kansas City, and for our children.  When I’m not at work, I enjoy traveling with my family, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, spending time with my fiancé, Jeff, and our dog, Rey, and attending live music and concert events. Please let me know if I can help you find a job you love at Children’s Mercy…just like I did!

Melynda Samson

I am a Talent Recruiter supporting various departments throughout the hospital. I am passionate about finding the right person for the right role. As a mom of three, I know what is important to me when it comes to taking care of my kids and it is my mission to find those qualities in all of my hires. My family and I love being outdoors, going on walks with our dog Winston and dancing around the house. We are busy with sports and are often on the field cheering on our little athletes. When you love what you do it doesn’t feel like work! That is a motto I have found to be true at Children’s Mercy. If you are ready to join the CM family, go to our Careers Page and “Introduce Yourself” to us or send me an email. Find something you love today!

I am the mom of two preemies, who are now active 5 and 8 year olds. They keep my life crazy but fun! I enjoy exploring new things with them and love their creativity. At Children’s Mercy, I recruit for a variety of areas and professions throughout the hospital like Environmental Services, Pharmacy Technicians, and Care Assistants for inpatient services. As a mom, I understand how scary it can be to take a child to the hospital which is why I want to ensure that we have the very best staff who gives every CM family an exceptional experience. Children’s Mercy has received Magnet recognition in nursing and is one of U.S. News & World Reports “Best Children’s Hospital.” It’s an honor to work here. If kids are your inspiration, contact me or “Introduce Yourself” to us on our Careers page.
